“Mercy House exists to engage, empower and disciple women around the globe in Jesus’ name. We provide for the rescue of pregnant girls in Kenya and provide a home for them. We empower their families and many others with dignified work so we can redeem future generations. We do this by engaging those with resources to say yes to the plight of women in poverty by empowering women around the world through partnerships and sustainable fair trade product development.”
Why We Work With Mercy House Global & Hands of Justice
When we define ourselves by our profession, or our daily output, or any of those things, I feel as though most will fall short. In the time we have here, I want to make an impact in any way that I can. Early in 2018, I decided that I wanted to be able to tell my clients that partnering with me to buy or sell a home is making an impact on something bigger than just what we are doing. The decision to choose Mercy House Global was an easy one. When my friend Kristen Welch told the story about meeting a young man who was purchased OUT of slavery because of the wages his mother earned as a result of her work making rugs, that meant something to me. It meant that when I partner with Mercy House, I am helping to empower women around the globe. As Kristen reminds us, the poor don’t want our money or our bottles of water. They want jobs, and a way to support their family.
My daughter and I are also proud to be involved in Hands of Justice – an anti-trafficking group formed by teenagers who are committed to fighting for those suffering both in and out of slavery. Click here to learn more about Hands of Justice.
