TWO MUST SEE PARKS IN HOUSTON

Hello Friends!

I am so excited to be start a new series of blog posts! From now on, we won’t just be focusing on Real Estate, but we will also cover more day to day things about our beautiful areas. From things to do, to where to eat, neighborhood pools, and just about all of our favorite things in and around Houston!

To start off today, I want to share a bit about two of my favorite parks and green areas in the city. Houston is large and has tall buildings, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have gorgeous green areas. Let’s get started!

Memorial Park

Memorial Park is stunning. If you are looking for a break from the tall buildings, this is it! It covers over 1,400 square feet, making it one of the biggest urban parks in the whole country. The park is home to an amazing top-rated golf course, Memorial Park Golf Course. Don’t worry if golfing isn’t you thing the park also boasts facilities for tennis courts, softball, swimming, track, croquet, volleyball, skating, cycling, and a running course. There are tons of trails, some heavily used for jogging and others by bikers! No matter what you are into, whether you are hoping to get some fresh air, have a picnic by nature, or just walk around, Memorial Park has it available!

Buffalo Bayou Park

Buffalo Bayou is an incredible park at the center of our beloved city. When it was built, it was a huge undertaking that was very anticipated. The park sits on 160 acres of green space. 10 miles of the park are along the water making it a great park for water sports! Visitors love to see the city from a kayak or pontoon boat at the park, so get ready to enjoy the water! If you have children, make sure to visit Barbara Fish Daniel Nature Play Area and to take your bikes to the Sandy Reed Memorial Trail. We have never heard of someone visiting Buffalo Bayou Park and not having a fantastic time. Make sure to come ready to explore!

These two parks don’t even begin to cover the green space in Houston, but they are definitely must-sees! From littles to grandparents, there is something to do, eat, and enjoy at Memorial Park or Buffalo Bayou Park! I hope you will visit these amazing places and let me know what your favorite part was. Let’s go out, explore, and have fun in our amazing city!
